Steve Hanlon
Guitar & Vocals
Steve started on the Guitar at age ten and was in his first band at the age of 13. First paying gig was at the Chatham Elementary School. Since that time Steve has entertained as far south as Martinique and as far north as Ski Country.
Specializing in acoustic guitar and vocals, Steve has played in many duos and trios through the years. Among them are Cool Breeze, Steve and Jen, and Cochran, Hanlon, and Clark. The latter had the pleasure of opening for Smokey Robinson, James Brown, Grand Funk Railroad, Roger McGuinn and James Brown, as well as a succession of well-known comedians.
A founding member of Freddie and the Maybellines, Steve left to pursue solo performing and eventually wound up putting Hazy, Hot and Humid together with the help of Bill and Randy. “Without a doubt, this band has the finest assortment of musicians and vocalists I have ever had the pleasure to be associated with,” said Steve. “What’s better than family, good friends and great music? That sums up my life in Hazy, Hot & Humid.
Doreen LaFranchise
Guitar, Saxaphone & Vocals
Doreen has been playing actively on Cape Cod since the early 90's.Her first professional gig on the Cape was a solo at the original Harry's in Hyannis, a first for both.
To this day, she works playing solo, while in the past working with such bands as The Underground Cats, The Andrea Terrio Band, Planet Blues, and her own band, Stone Soup including Les Kuipers and Dan Lyons.
Her first instrument being the alto saxophone, Doreen also learned to play the guitar at an early age to accompany her vocals. Doreen has most recently joined with Hazy Hot and Humid, and 2012 will be her first full season playing with Steve and Bill.
Bill Rountree
Bass Guitar & Vocals
Originally from Savannah Georgia, Bill was playing blues jams in a couple of local bars there when he was just 15.
Since moving to Cape Cod at age 17, he has played with many local bands, including The Jim Miller Project, Loose Leaf, George Gritzback Blues Band, Dan Lawson Band, The Cape Cod Slackers, and now (for the second time) Hazy Hot, and Humid. He has recorded his original songs in Nashville, and worked with several Nashville publishers as a songwriter.
Bill spends his winter months in Florida playing freelance gigs with several bands, and friends in the Fort Myers area.
Summers will now be spent playing with Hazy, Hot& Humid on Cape Cod.
